Ready to take your safety experience to the next level to work on projects that will have a huge impact on the local community? Parsons is now hiring a Construction Safety Inspector for our expanding team located inLandover, MD and the Washington DC area.

In this role, theSH&E Specialist will be responsible for the administration, monitoring, and coordination of the Project Safety Plan in a staff augmentation role for the client. This position requires an effective team member who can work with and mentor project team members and foster a working environment where culturally diverse project staff can work together cooperatively to deliver the project safely and with an exceptional degree of quality. The position will represent the client in SH&E matters while working closely with them and all project entities. Receive daily assignments from the client Safety Manager but functionally report to the Vice President of SH&E.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

Provide SH&E oversight and guidance to construction contractors during planning and

development phases of the work

Monitor compliance of various contractor SH&E and Quality programs in an oversight role through audits, inspections, and written reports

Review Contractor SH&E programs and provide comments

Monitor Key Performance Indicatorsfor all aspects of assigned work and develop reports as required and directed

Conduct incident investigations and review contractor hazard analyses and risk planning efforts as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree inSafety, Environmental Sciences, or related field is preferred plus minimum of 5+ years demonstrable experience in system safety.

Knowledgeof industry safety standards and their application to planning, design, and construction

Knowledge of ISO 45001 preferred

Strong written and oral communication skills

Ability to interface with all stakeholders in a manner consistent with contract agreements and the applicable standards of reasonable care

Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team with working knowledge in a government environment

Ability to develop and provide SH&E training as required

Mustbe able to successfully complete Railway Worker Protection Certification (RWP)

Mustbe able to pass a government background check

Must be able to work in confined spaces

Must have reliable transportation and must possess a valid District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia motor vehicle operators license
