Shift specialist is a unique opportunity for our top-notch caregivers to gain experience working in both in-home care and administrative work as needed. As such, shift specialists play a crucial role in providing quality in-home care services by assisting clients with daily living activities at their home or care facility. Some of the activities include but are not limited housekeeping (chore services), medication assistance (as delegated), personal care (like bathing, showering, or toileting), shopping (on an as-needed basis), and transportation within the community._ This position is guaranteed 25 hours of work per week, and up to 40 hours of work per week! _
Report to the Northgate office at 8 a.m. from Monday to Friday unless was discharged to the client's home
Must be available until 7 p.m. Monday to Friday
Provide assistance with or perform (on an as-needed/ as-directed basis) tasks as directed by care plan included but not limited to:
o Personal care like bathing (bed, tub, shower, or sponge bath), skin care, toileting (like the bedpan, urinal, commode, and/or toilet), grooming (shampoo, nail care, and shaving), oral hygiene (denture care), and assist with dressing and undressing
o RN delegation tasks
o Housekeeping like cleaning and keeping resident's room clean and supplied
o Transportation: able to drive client in their car anywhere in the greater Seattle area
o Cooking meals based on resident's dietary needs
o Feeding resident if needed
o Pet care as described in the care plan (if applicable)
Provide emotional and social support as needed by the client or as directed by the care plan
Prepare and maintain records of client progress, tasks, and narrative notes by the end of each shift
Other duties as assigned that are appropriate to the scope and knowledge required of this position
Contact Fedelta office immediately if client request services outside of license, the scope of practice or scope of the care plan
Maintain confidentiality in relation to all clients, healthcare staffs, and documentation
Perform administrative tasks like computer and phone if needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND APTITUDES
Must be able to provide physical assistance with transfers, bathing, toileting, and dressing
Must be able to perform CPR
Must be able to sit, stand, and walk without support or auxiliary aids
Must be able to operate the telephone to call for emergency help
Must be able to operate general household appliances and tools such as washer, dryer, stove top, range, microwave, vacuum cleaner, garbage disposal, dishwasher, mop, broom, etc.
Must be able to climb stairs and navigate slippery or uneven pathways
Compassionate, mature, sympathetic, and professional at all times
Strong organization and communication skills
Strong listening skills and attention to detail
Able to read, write, and communicate professionally in English as this position requires a tremendous amount of phone and in-person interaction
Administrative skills like computer and phone would be preferred
